What is an NPDB report?
An NPDB report records either a medical malpractice payment paid on behalf of a health care practitioner or actions taken against a health care practitioner, organization, provider, or supplier. Only certain kinds of actions may be reported to the NPDB. These include medical malpractice payments (made on behalf of practitioners) and actions related to clinical privileges, state licensure or certification, federal licensure or certification, professional membership, and exclusions from Medicare/Medicaid or other government health care programs.
