Public Use Data File and Data Analysis Tool Updated. PUF Subsets now available.
We updated the NPDB Public Use Data File (PUF) and the Data Analysis Tool (DAT). The PUF and DAT now include data from September 1, 1990, through December 31, 2025. You can now specify subsets of the PUF based on the Adverse Action and Medical Malpractice Payment Report types, and selected Profession Groups. Subsets keep the same structure and content but only include records that match the user-selected values, making it easier to narrow results to the data of interest. Subsets are only available in CSV format. The full PUF file remains available in CSV, ASCII, and SPSS formats.
